1959 Cadillac Kad-A-Mino – One-Off Gene Winfield Custom
An extraordinary one-of-one custom restomod, the 1959 Cadillac Kad-A-Mino seamlessly blends the opulence of a Cadillac Coupe de Ville with the bold utility concept of an El Camino. Built by legendary custom car builder Gene Winfield, this rolling piece of automotive art was created using both two-door and four-door 1959 Cadillac donor cars and executed with world-class craftsmanship.
The exterior retains the unmistakable drama of 1959 Cadillac styling—towering tailfins, bullet taillights, and an iconic chrome grille—finished in Winfield’s signature Candy Blue fade paint. Behind the cabin, a hand-crafted pickup bed with custom tonneau cover flows perfectly with the factory body lines, creating a flawless car-truck hybrid.
Power comes from a rebuilt 390ci Cadillac V8 paired with a Jetaway 4-speed automatic, delivering smooth cruising with authentic period performance. The interior matches the exterior’s presence with custom gray and blue bucket seats, center console, and classic luxury features including air conditioning, power steering, and power brakes.
This Cad-A-Mino is more than a custom—it’s a documented, award-winning showpiece with deep provenance.
